2 of them, the second one is quite small compared to first one. They were born August 14th, so about two weeks old.How old are they? That is pretty dark. Could be a cockerel.
Edited to add- how many different chicks are in your pictures?
It's still pretty early, but my guess would be one pullet and one cockerel. I don't have this breed, but I know someone that does, and I think those darker wings indicate a male. I know a lot of people on here have them, so hopefully one of them will chime in that knows more than I do.2 of them, the second one is quite small compared to first one. This is my first time having them either. I hatched a combination of breeds with them- Wyandottes and easter eggers. The odds of most of them being roos are pretty high, I only noticed 2 that are obvious pullets. It's still pretty early, but my guess would be one pullet and one cockerel. That's unfortunate. My neighbor got like 24 chicks from TSC this year. Of her straight run RIRs, 7/7 are cockerels. I think her pullet Barred Plymouth Rocks are actually female, but there is at least one cockerel out of the 11 pullet brahmas. This is my first time having them either. My salmon fav pullets were never that dark at that age. Even the sooty ones didn’t have it on their wings-all in their beards. So I agree likely a cockerel.
However, I would add that I don’t see a fifth toe in those pictures. It might be the picture (or my eyes) but if they don’t have five toe’s they’re not SFs and then I don’t feel comfortable saying cockerel. Something else about them seems off to me—it almost looks like barring on the feathers.
Where did you get them?
