That's unfortunate. My neighbor got like 24 chicks from TSC this year. Of her straight run RIRs, 7/7 are cockerels. I think her pullet Barred Plymouth Rocks are actually female, but there is at least one cockerel out of the 11 pullet brahmas.

TSC is known for selling roosters, even as pullets haha.
I have a bachelor party in my yard. With three teenagers roos already. Instead of getting rid of them I am thinking making a run and rotating them with the hens haha.
I don't know why roo seems so much more predominant

I read somewhere that most hatches are around a 55/45% or even 60/40% split, heavy on the males. Interesting. I have no idea if that's true, lol, but it seems to be.

On the feet topic, I have a young pullet with a mysterious breed. She has 5 toes in one feet and 4 on the other

Did you get her/the egg (if you hatched her) from the same lady? Could be a silkie mix or a SF mix if so.
