2 chicks stretching out necks with beak open like can't breathe

I have 7-8 week old RIR and 2 chicks stretching out necks with beak open like gasping for air or something and then shake their heads. Could it be Gape worms or something like that? They only do it when they are sitting still or on the roost.

That's what it sounds like. I haven't had this issue yet, still new to this meself. A breeder says to give them safeguard, 1 dose, wait for days, dose one day again.3cc per gal. But don't take me up on it. Maybe someone with better expertise can have a good answer. This dose was for older chickies I believe.
