what do you think? the black one has some stuff stuck to it when we helped him out of the egg.. will it fall off... its not the umbilical cord but maybe some membrane...

You will need to clean it off. I've had that happen and it made it hard for mine to walk as it was stuck to its wing. Just use warm water on a Q-tip

Awwwhh! They're adorable.

One of my White Leghorn chicks had a bit of "stuff" attached to it's wing and head - I left it alone and it took awhile but it came off on it's own. I think it was the 3rd day before I noticed it was gone. You could clean it or leave it and it will come off eventually without help.

I agree you can clean it or leave it. I usually clean my chicks off and then give them a blow dry with a hair dryer on low.
