2 day old chick girl or boy??

Can anyone tell me if this chick is a boy or girl and what breed is born black ?

Can u help me I have 2 eggs rhat have not hatched how do I candle them and what do I look for to see if they will hatch if they can't hatch what do I do can. U help pleSe

Give them three days to hatch beyond the hatch date if you are using an incubator (unless the broody hen is in charge- let her decide when to get off the nest) in my opinion.

Yes do candle them if you are using an incubator. Throw them out if they are starting to smell bad (rotten).

But if you have them in the incubator really it is not a good time to candle them when you should be keeping that humidity up. So get them in and out quick if you must candle them.

Ask again about sex and breed when your chicks have all their true feathers. At about eight weeks.

Thank you for ur help do I candle them if hen is on them as I dnt want her to ignore the 2 chicks and they not feed and die I'm new to this and scared

Oh just put a feeder and waterer next to her and she will teach the little ones to eat and drink whilst hatching out the rest of the eggs. The chicks can live easily for a couple of days as they are still digesting egg yolk. But this will help out a little if you can swing it. If there really isn't a place to put a feeder and waterer, just give it some time. The chicks will be fine for a couple of days. This is nature's way. That is how the hatcheries ship day old chicks, because they are living off the egg yolk they are digesting.

So what do I do if by day 25-26 the other 2 eggs don't hatch and yes plenty of water and chick crum are close by I'm just worried about the other 2 eggs that ain't hatched
