2 day old chick

I just received 16 chicks 2 days old via the mail. Upon arrival, 1 was dead and one seems ill. All of the others are in perfect shape. The little one having trouble shakes, and has a pastey butt. Her eyes have been closed for awhile. She chirps and likes to try to move, but seems very unbalanced. She drinks, but is having a very hard time eating. Any help would be grateful! I can tell shes a fighter! Thank you for your time!

I would isolate the sick one and try giving the little one some sugar water for needed energy and gently wipe the butt with a wet warm cloth to get it cleaned up. Make sure it stays warm!

Shipping is hard on the little ones, I usually lose the weak ones within 24 hours. If you got them from a hatchery let them know they will usually reimburse you.

Sad but unfortunately it happens.

Sorry for your loss. I would get some Poultry NutriDrench or SaveAChick electrolytes, and make sure all chicks comtinue to drink well. Check once a day for pasty butt. Shipping stress is fairly common.

Okay it seems another one Is having the same issues as the previous one that died. Although this one doesn't have a pasty butt. I'll try sugar water, and will keep you posted.
