2 day old chick

she has'nt eat or drink that much only a little and she sleeps alot tucking herself in the fur with i provided her..she's active when she's wake though..she's 2 days old..is this normal?

They sleep a lot for the first few days and it doesn't take a lot of food to fill a tiny belly.

Do you see her eat and drink? If you do, she should be fine. It's hard to tell when you don't have more chicks to compare her to. You can feel her gently to see if you can feel her losing weight around her keel (chest area). As long as she's energetic when awake, she should be fine. She will start to sleep less as the days go by.

umm.. i pick her up and put her into the food trough 4 times a day and place her near the water to encourage her to drink..it only works this way for now..she's so timid btw always tucking herself inside the fur

When they hatch with others they’ll learn from each other. When they have have a mother there she’ll teach them. Maybe try swizzling your finger around in the food and water to encourage it. Hope all goes well.
