I have 25 bourbon red poults that arrived today, hatched Wednesday.

They are set up with a MHP and all seem to be happy, except one. I got them all tucked in for the night, but this one continues to get out from under the pad and just wanders and chirps like something is wrong.

I helped it get water and offered it food (didn’t want it). I’m at a loss of what to do or what could be wrong.

When I checked the MHP temp before putting them in the brooder it was at 91 at floor-level.

Any idea what could be going on or suggestions of what I can do?

I don't know anything about Poults but sometimes you have to just keep pushing them under a few times for them to really get it. What I try to do at night is turn off the lights (maybe have one in the distance so I can see but doesn't light up the room (mine are in my daughters room so I have the hall light on and her door partially closed so there isn't much light in there for them but I can see them) and push them under then turn off the other light as quick as I can. Once it is dark around them they normally won't come back out.

Yup, that’s what I’ve been doing with this one stubborn poult. It would stay under MHP for a few minutes (still chirping the whole time) and then come running out.

I saw a suggestion on another thread to cover the brooder with a sheet so after pushing it back under for the millionth time, I did that and just let it chirp it out. I think about 3:30 it finally settled down to sleep.

It's like having a colicky baby.
I hope she settles down soon.
