In the Brooder
Hello all,
Looking for any insight into what his happening with my flock. In my mixed flock of 5 Amerauacas and now 7 ISA browns, I had 2 hens exhibit lethargy and death (one had a blue-ish comb). I recently added the ISAs into this coop after a good hearted but poorly thought out chicken rescue. I needed to deworm (round worm) and treat for mites and lice which was recently done (plus give them a good clean). These chickens are just coming out of a molt. Two of these chickens have sinced died and another is not doing well (2 weeks later but same lethargy). However, I cannot be sure these chickens are the source because one of my Ameraucanas (acquired just before Christmas) has a gurgly stomach and previously had clear liquid coming from her beak (see post "Chicken Vomit"). The best guess for her was sour crop which I attempted to treat with yogurt and ACV. She still gurgles but otherwise seems fine.
I thought the other chickens died of worms but with this latest illness, I'm afraid there is something serious in the coop. Some of the chickens have yellow foamy poop sometimes. Most poop seems normal. The currently ill chicken *pooped* a clear liquid the last time I saw her. Main symptom is lethargy - they sleep in the corner during the day before death. She is isolated at the moment. If she goes like the others, she'll die in the next day or 2.
Any insights? Please.
