I have a hen who's been Broody for MONTHS. Every time she gets close to hatching an egg , she leaves and someone else becomes a mom! This has happened 3 times in the past year. WELL, this time the 21st day is tomorrow and she's still (with a little intervention) on some. Started with 6 (from all different hens) 2 were broken within the last 2 weeks and absorbed or eaten , but i contribute this to Her(momma) being in the favorite nesting box and others wanting to lay in it and fight for the spot and sometimes just sitting on top of her. Well recently we've found dead chicks on day 19 and 20 with her. Are they dying from deficiencies or is she killing them?? I tried moving her and the eggs to a safer spot but, she wouldn't go for it. So i put her eggs back under her in a less desirable box. Should I take the Last Two eggs and try to hatch them myself ? We have No incubator. HELP

We have a BABY!!

The other egg is trying to hatch. I carefully picked away some shell and put back under the mom. Moved the whole group to the nursery on the ground. Should I leave it or help it out? Will the mom help?
