I have a set of growing pullets, between the ages of 4 and 7 months old. Last month I lost one, I found him outside, he was lethargic and “sleepy” but no outward signs of infection. Eyes and nostrils clear, no mites or worms.
His symptoms seemed sudden and he died that day. I treated the whole flock with corid as a precautionary. This last week another pullet has seemed a little lethargic, I took her in for observation but again no outward signs of sickness. She was eating and drinking normally. Yesterday she was worse, and her whole left eye was cloudy and unresponsive. She was weak but still had no nasal or eye discharge, no swelling, no lesions nothing. I gave her an oral antibiotic but it was too late. Her breathing became progressively labored and she passed.

Sending her to the lab is the best option but I didn’t think of it until after she was buried!

I’m at a total loss for what it might be so I’m not sure how to go about treating the flock preventatively! Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks
