Yesterday I collected 6 eggs from 6 chickens. Unless 1 Americana is
producing brown eggs, my RIR gave me 2 eggs. Is this possible?
My 1st post, but I have found so much great
info here!

1 wife, 2 kids, 3 americanas, 1 RIR, 1 BR, 1 Leggorn. Chickens in the burbs

You are gonna love it here. Yes it is possible. I have a Golden Comet that layed 2 eggs within about 1 min. of each other, I seen her do it so I know it can be done. No other chicken was in the nest.

My RIR first egg was layed and a few hours later she laid another. It is possible but will not happen regularly.

It's fitting that the kids named the RIR "Barbie" after a red headed friend of my wife. She is very fertile too!

Thanks for your replies!
