2 eggs in one day...2nd one rubber....?

Dang, I got my 1st rubbery egg today. I put my hand in the nest box to retrieve the egg and it plumb scared the dickens outta me, withdrew my hand real quick and then remembered someone posted on here about rubbery eggs. Haven't bounced it yet. Gonna give it a try.

Ok so every one that has rubbery (shell-les) eggs, what brand feed are you using?

We were using Agway
They seem to do better on Poulin

I use Dumor layer crumbles. But I also have oyster shell available free choice.

I've had the one rubbery egg, and from another one of my girls I've had two eggs that were so weak they didn't hold together when they were laid, and another one with a really thin shell.

Not sure there's a connection, but my girl that laid the 'rubbery' egg also went broody about a week later...hmmmmmmmm....

Well, mine aren't rubbery, they are more like soft bags of skin (eeeuuuw I know). Feel like water balloons. I think they do have yolks. I found two more (TWO!) this morning. This is getting weird.

They are always someplace other than the nest boxes too, which makes me think the pullet responsible knows there is something wrong with them. I'd sure like to know if this is something that's preventable because its happening frequently.

And yes, they get oyster shell and yogurt too.
