One of my hens laid 2 eggs today, but the problem is that one of them was shell-less
I am 100% sure it's from this one particular hen since I seen it sitting in the box right before finding the eggs. It laid a normal egg at 8AM and a shell-less at 6PM (10 hours apart)
The hen is new to laying, this is it's 7th and 8th egg
Does anybody know why it may have laid the 2nd one prematurely ?

Just because you saw her sitting in there doesn’t mean both eggs are hers... mine always sit on each other’s eggs to make a big pile ( even though they have access to several nesting boxes ). I wouldn't assume they both can from the same hen unless you saw her lay both.

I wouldn't worry, even if they were from the same pullet.
The fact it's soft shell makes it more likely it's hers and not another pullet's.
Just keep an eye on her.

I literallyy locked her in the coop both times because I saw her showing signs that she was about to lay (and locking the coop keeps the other hens out and helps her calm down)
