I had a robin nest on my porch. There were 3 eggs in the nest and 4 chicks hatched. The 2nd chick that hatched from the same egg was small but it survived. If both chicks hatch from the 1 egg it’s very likely they will need some extra TLC for the first 2 weeks of life.

If it has two embryos in it that was a double yolked egg. It's pretty likely both embryos will develop all the way if they have started. It is possible but not likely both will hatch and you will have two healthy chicks. They have to do a lot in there to position themselves to hatch, internal pip in one air cell, and all that. With two chicks in there it is really crowded. It's possible none survive, one may survive, and rarely both survive.

There was a thread on here several years ago where someone went through all the steps they took to help them hatch and they both survived. I don't have a link and I'm not sure what key words I'd use to search for it.

Thank you.
