Had to temporarily change my 5 Pekin ducks' feed. I have two adults approx 2 years old and 3 babies 9 weeks old. I changed to cracked corn. I know it doesn't give them their protein needs but hoping they can make some of this up dabbling all day. Should I supplement more and with what? Remember this is only temporary. I usually feed them pellets 16-18%.

Also have potted catnip I'd like to plant in the ground. Would it be safe to plant it along their fence? Is catnip toxic to them?

I know nothing about catnip so cannot help on that unfortunately. As for the feed? hmmm what else can you get? do they free range??

I use a grower and whole corn here but the birds also free range....

The adults do, the "babies" are out in their "pen" most of the day. Its also the next morning and they haven't touched the corn. I think they may be a bit spoiled and are being a bit stubborn about eating it..

Actually, I have been giving them some treats every few day. I loved that list btw. So I guess if I don't have to officially supplement I won't worry. I do wish I could find some clear information regarding Catnip though. It would be perfect to line the coop with.
