We've got some nasty weather coming this weekend. Lows hovering around 18. It won't get above freezing on Sunday. Nasty freezing rain.

I'm not worried about the chickens. They're pretty much set up. Except for their waterers, of course. I'll have to just bring the water all inside at night. Hopefully the rain barrel system I build will withstand the freeze.

The goats I worry about. Especially knowing Daisy is going to have a baby any day now. I'll move them into the maternity ward with a heat lamp secured. I'll then move Beau back into the goat pen (he's currently living in the large pig pens) because there's deep straw for him to cuddle into. He loves the cold so he'll be just fine. I'll have to remove his water at night too.

And.... drip all the faucets. Yay...
I honestly don't know how people who live up North deal with this. Texas basically shuts down during our rare winter storms.

Yep, old man winter couldn't just let us keep rolling on with our nice mild winter, oh no, gotta throw some BS at us! I swear we get at least 1 of these events every year :he I'm sure Beau will make sure the goats are snug as a bug!

I'm actually still keeping Beau separate from the goats when not supervised. He's still showing too much interest in them and I'm afraid he's going to hurt them trying to mount. Vet says he should calm down after being neutered in a couple months. He's about 14months old now so hopefully matures soon.
