Well- our 2nd egg hatched today (Silkie eggs incubated by a surrogate OE Banty Mom in the house) but she just doesn't seem "right"...
It's been a couple hours since she hatched, and she's staying all curled up in the fetal position, and where the yolk-sack is still partially attached to her is a gap in the skin...
I can't tell if the "stuff" slightly poking out is umbilical tissue, flesh, or worse...innards??? It isn't like- Hanging out-- but a bit is there, it isn't the cord, and the size of the area is way bigger than a normal umbilicus.
We've only hatched 2 eggs ever-- so I didn't know-- is this something to worry about??
