Well, it looks like I have 2 females and 1 male. I don't know what's up with the green heads, maybe even the females have a little bit of green under the brown? Anyway, they're about fully feathered now and the 2 bigger ones have the blue/purple spot on their wings and the slightly smaller 1 doesn't have that spot, but he is getting a ring around his neck. I'm posting a picture of the 3 of them in the stream of my pond. I don't have a good one of the ring around the one's neck but in this picture you can see the blue/purple on the 2 hen's wings. They're growing up so fast!!!

. The green shine has to do with the reflection of the light.

Forgive my ignorance; but, they all look the same to me

How old are they? Have you noticed any difference in their "speech"?

What breed do you think they are?

I'm not convinced (by your photo) that you have a trio; but, that's based on just the one photo and limited information.

They are 6 week old Mallards. The one I'm thinking is a male is starting to get the white neck ring (which the other two don't have any sign of) and is lacking the purple/blue spot on the wings (which the other two do have) Otherwise they still have the same coloring. I'm not totally convinced yet either as this is my first time with ducks, just guessing. I'm thinking maybe if the one is a male he'll get his curl when the rest of his manly feathers come in lol

At 6 weeks old, you will be able to tell by the sound they make. Pick them up, the girls will definately have their quack by now and a male will sound more hoarse (like it has a sore throat).
