Well the last couple of days have been really depressing since I lost all of my graduated chicks but a few to whatever Predator in one coop. This eve DH and I were outside on the porch and he said what are those "peanut" babie's over there running around the cornbcrib.Weeee My OEGB which had went broody under there brought out 5 gorgeous babie's.They were so cute and fuffy looking.I quickly checked the rest of her nest luckily it wasn't so far under there that I couldn't get to it.Sure enough there was another grey one hatched but was cold I thought at first it was dead.Another egg had pipped good but not hatched.I guess she was Jiggy with the chicks and wanted to get them out for food.I took the chick and the unhatched egg and put them in the hatcher. She had 4 egg's left so I moved them to nest box along with the chicks. The other egg has done hatched and the other chick warmed up and is looking good.I got her a nice box set up in horse stall in pen where my Columbian wyandotte bantam was setting behind a stump.I checked under her too because they had been sitting about the same length of time.So far she has one baby and about 4 more egg's to sit.She was itting 2 of her own egg's and a couple I had given her.I had 2 newbies hatch today one millie fleur and looks like one cochin too in hatcher so I may put those under the OEGB.She was so protecting them from the other bird's.I wasn't about to leave her to take them back under that cornbrib.Think she gonna be a really good mama.Hopefully can get some pic's tomm. when she is more settled and maybe by then the Columbian will hatch some more of her's too.
