I have two beautiful roosters that we have decided not to keep, as we will not need fertile eggs for a couple of years.

The roosters are 6 months old and great flock guardians, but do not get along with my geese. They were acquired as day old chicks from Meyer Hatchery and were vaccinated for Marek's by the hatchery prior to delivery. One is a Barred Plymouth Rock, the other is a Black Australorpe. The Barred Rock is the more dominant of the two, and has a slight limp from an injury when he was a younger cockerel, and does not cause him any problems. Both are really nice, the Australorpe would probably make a nice 4H show bird as he has very beautiful plumage and handles quite well when you pick him up. My daughter did not want us to process them, as she has gotten attached to them, so I promised her I would attempt to find them a home first. However, if you choose to process them yourself, that is fine too, although they would probably be a bit stringy/tough at this age and would likely be better pressure canned or used for a stew/soup.

Can go together or separately, located near the Peak of Ohio, 45 minutes Northwest of Columbus.

I would really like to see these guys get a good home. As Heritage breeds, they would make great additions for anyone breeding to preserve those chicken breeds.

Thank you!
