Hi. I have the same issue with my 12 week old Rhode Island Red. I read the label for Tylosin powder and it states that it shouldn't be used for meat or egg laying birds meant for human consumption. Is there an egg withdrawal period I should know about (even though she is not yet laying?) Thank you
Welcome To BYCHello - I have a 12 week old Rhode Island Red with similar issue. I read the label for the tylosin powder and it indicates it should not be used on laying chickens or meat chickens for human consumption. Is there an egg withdrawal period? I couldn't find any info about this through google searches and even though my bird isn't laying yet, it would be good to know for future. Thank you
I hope your chick gets better.
At that age, I wouldn't worry too much about withdrawal periods unless you are planning to butcher in another week or two.
Tylosin is approved for use in poultry, you may find the info below helpful.
