The runt of the flock, Luna has a broken leg. She is much smaller then the rest but is not picked on. We have no clue how she got hurt! I picked her up & her leg is broken. I will try to put up pictures tomorrow. We are thinking of bringing her to the bird hospital to have it splinted, because we have no experience in broken legs. Is this a good idea? If so how much would something like this cost?

Her leg is turned out when she walks & its floppy I can see where the break is I think

So she can walk on it but she's not walking like she should? If you can tell where the break is you could try splinting it yourself. If it was me I would use vet wrap, a plastic straw and some sort of tape. You can cut the straw in half lengthwise and cut it down to the appropriate size. Use the vet wrap to hold the straw in place and then tape over all of that. I would avoid making the splint too bulky because you want her to be able to move but for the splint to offer some support. You will also want to separate her with a mild mannered friend to keep her company. Try to choose another chick that is the least rambunctious because you don't want her getting stepped on or knocked over while she's trying to heal.

I have no idea how much it would cost to take her to a bird hospital.
