2 moths chicken owner here. why do I have to cut chickens runs grass

I have cut twice then an weed eatter twice

It depends on how many in the pen. Since you have only had them 2 months give them time. It will become just dirt.

Don't use weed killer in a pen where chickens are...it could poison them. You need to keep the grass trimmed as eating too much long grass can lead to sour crop which can kill if not picked up on in time or treated properly.

That is amazing. I have never had a grass run last more than a few days with 12 chickens. They have 350 square feet & has been dirt since soon after they got to it!
