a pond and the ducks LOVE laying eggs in my flower bed, this is the 1st time rhe eggs have survived long enough for mama to incubate them, now 2 of them are hatching them, I have put up a fence and made a little house to keep predators away, what happens when they hatch? Will all the ducklings follow 1 mama, will they split up? I'd hate to see 1 duck work so hard for nothing

Do they have food and water in the fenced in area you gave them? They get up at least once sometimes twice a day to eat, drink, and bathe(swim).
After the ducklings hatch the mothers keep them warm and show them how to do everything, they need to know to be a duck. ;) Eat, drink, swim, hunt for bugs etc.

Yes!! They get fresh water and food every day, they can fly out if they need to,I open the gate every morning and close it every night to keep it safe from predators, foxes, dogs raccoons.

I am so worried that all the ducklings 🐥 are gonna follow just 1 mama and the other duck sat all that time for nothing 😢 makes me sad to think that. Should be about 3 nore weeks and I'll know

Not ducks but I had a second Wyandotte hen join the first on the nest 18 days in (was both their eggs to start off with but one did 21 days and the other three!). The hatched three chicks of which two died and now they're very nicely sharing parental duties to the one chick. No fighting. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Good luck with the ducks.

I have 3 Bantam Cochin Hens that are all mommas to the 3 Maran chicks I gave them.

Oh I really hope they both share! That would be amazing!! They are both 1st time parents, they are actually sisters.
