2 of 3 stopped laying and now last layer laid something scarry

It definitely came out of the one of the three chickens. It was in the nest box. I pulled out the entire bedding to take photo of it.

Definitely not dog barf. I clean plenty of that up.

I tapped it with a stick and it was hard. It must be some kind of calcification. It could have even come from one of the current non-layers but coincidentally the consistent layer missed today.

I forgot to add that they always have a cup of oyster shells available. Their combs are all red, none are deflated or off-color.

Thanks chicktwins. It does look like a fresh version of those bizarre things. Too bad no one had more information about them.

Here's an update in case anyone else sees this happen to their hen.

The girl who most likely laid that bizarre thing died today. She didn't seem sick before today but this afternoon she parked herself outside the coop and didn't move from the spot. When I went to check on her tonight at 8pm she had passed on. She was only two years old.

I am still interested in knowing what that thing was if anyone coming across this thread in the future has more information.

Thank you all for your help and the information on broodiness.
