The first chick to die was a New Jersey Giant, the second was a Rhode Island Red; both female, 3 weeks old, & died a few days apart. They had plenty of good clean feed and water every day. Lights on all the time for warmth. They were not acting right the night before i found them dead. They were sleeping standing up and falling over. Stress? Temperature? Light? Not sure what to think.

Thank you for relying to my post i do not believe it was pasty butt they didnt have poop on them when they died. They started to act weird and sleeping standinf up. I aint quite sure whats going on but so far no more have died.

I would start them on corid. Sounds like they have a coccidia problem. You can find corid at most feed stores and you put it in their water for 5 - 7 days. Coccidia can and does kill but when caught and treated, is easy to cure.
