How old? If you can keep them moving and eating less, they can/will live longer
I don't know how old they are I took over there care 3 wks ago and they are passed the broiling stage. One rooster has and injured leg but I have been babying him and he's doing alot better but still limping a little. I have changed their food and they go out in the yard for a couple of hrs but prefer to stay in their pen or in front of the fan! Lol

I see this post was several months ago. How are they doing? A feed store sold 4 straight run Cornish cross to my husband from a bin labeled Buff Orpington pullets. They are so sweet (about 5 to 6 weeks old now). I know that they are heavy breasted and dont tend to live long but we adore them and want to give them a good life as long as we can.
 
some folks let them free range with other birds and it encourages them to exercise more.
Or have feed out 12 hours, and no feed for the other 12.
