Thanks that is really help neither one of them has much of a comb so far so I feel pretty confident now that they are both hensYour picture is a bit dark, so I can't see the coloration. Males will feather out darker, with a different pattern than the females. Male cochins also get red combs pretty early. Size doesn't matter. Some are just smaller birds than others.
