We have a flock of 9 pullets and 3 roosters. Our black copper maran and barred rock have been puffed up now for 2 days!!! They hide in the corner all puffed up. The maran will not eat or drink. The barred rock is a little better today as in mor food and water. They both have green frothy poops that are very watery. I have started treating the whole flock with Corrid. But it has only been a day. I have seen no visible worms. Vents are normal. No bugs. Feathers are silky. Slightly pale combs. Should I try a dewormer? If so, which one and what dosage and can I use it with Corrid? They have been drinking alot of muddy puddles.

Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos of the pullets and their poop?
How much space do you have for that many pullets with 3 roosters (cockerels?)?
How old are they?

Any chance they could have eaten food that got wet and moldy?
Check their crops, what do they feel like?

Hiding, have they been bullied and kept from food/water?

Corid is a probably a good start. Make sure you are giving the correct dose. Liquid Corid is 2tsp per gallon of water and Powder is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water. Give for 5-7 days as the only source of water. Don't give any additional vitamins or electrolytes during the course of treatment.

De-worming may be something to consider. It's unusual to have 2 with the same symptoms suddenly if it's worms. Getting a fecal float would be best, but if not possible, then Safeguard (Fenbendazole) can be found at TSC. Dose is .23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days.

Observe behavior, if you need to, move the roosters if they are bothering the pullets. Corid can be given to all the birds if necessary. Same as de-wormer.

How old are they? What dosage of Corid are you using? For worming Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer are very good to use, but I would want to know ages before recommending those.

The girls are only 5 months old. I have not seen any worms. I am at a loss. I was doing 1 1/4 tsp per 5 gallons. I should up it then to 1 1/2 tsp per gallon.

Then I would consider worming them as well. A vet doing a fecal float to look for worms and coccidiosis can be helpful, if you take in some fresh droppings in a Ziplock bag. Valbazen dosage is 1/2 ml given orally and repeated in 10 days. SafeGuard dosage is 1/4 ml per pound given for 5 consecutive days.
