2 Questions: Is the nest area big enough? Will my other hen be okay with the babies?

I have just two happy hens. I know all hens have their own personalities, but as a rule should my buff hen be okay when my blue's babies hatch?
Or should I definitely be separating her off with an enclosure in the coop?

Also do you think this nest box is too small? I do.
I had the eggs in the blue tray but one was rolled out from under her on the 1st day, as if the tray was too big.
Should I wait until the chicks hatch and then immediately take out the green box?
Should I move the green box now so the chicks don't become pancakes?

I think your green nest box is fine. It's big enough for the hen to sit comfortably in with some space for the fluffy butts to sit next to her when they come, but they will most likely prefer to sit under her. I've had hens hatch chicks in the strangest places and on some hard surfaces and I've never had a "pancake".
If you have only the 2 hens I don't think you'll need to separate her and the babies. A good mom will protect her young from the rest of the flock. I've had cases of chickens attacking hatchlings, but that was with my rather huge flock! And some of my hens are a bit crazy. If you're worried keep and eye on aunty hen when the chicks come. She'll probably just be curious.

Keep us posted and enjoy!

I looks great. Everyone should be fine together. I have 3 hens with clutches in with 15 pullets and 3 roosters everyone is good.

Thank you both for posting. The two are great friends, and I'll keep ya' posted.
