Hi! Thank you so much for seeing if you can help! I'm very thankful! Here are my questions:

1. If one of my chicks ends up being a rooster, what can I do to sell him before he starts annoying our neighbors?

2. What can I do to prevent having a chick die during her first few weeks in the brooder?

Thank you for helping out!

You could always list your rooster on your local Craigslist or if the area has a FB sell group. Also check with your local grange and see if you can put up a flyer or list it in the pennysaver or whatever publication the area has. My area there's always ads going up for roo's in those venues.

I agree with CL to advertise the roo even offering it a free home to a farmer who needs a roo..Or if you want to keep it you can try a no crow collar which is a piece of velcro...I have one even though i really dont want to use it. I have it if i must use it if my neighbors complain...

To help chicks if they are mail order, electrolytes in water (sav a chic( they a inexpensive a couple bux for 3 packs. Also depending what crumble you use I would run it through a coffe grinder if you have one. I had a chick die from not eating properly she looked to be eating but was not because the food crumbles were to big...

Also on heat lamp make sure it cozy but not to hot and you have a cool off zone

Thank guy so much! I did a little research on the no crow collars and the roos looked a little depressed. We may just ask the neighbors if they care about it much. Thanks again guys! I can't wait to get my fuzzy, cheeping chicks of mischief!

Search out "Apple Cider Vinegar" put a bit in the water ... Also they enjoy a treat of yogurt, good for them too, mix with a bit of their feed ...
