well they do that sparring thing and theyre 2 months now, we also have only 2 2month hens and 3 5 year old hens that we keep apart cause the oldies fight with the 2monthers...also if any of them crow to much me mom will get rid of em...
justino - I disagree that they will always fight. Young roos do spar to work out pecking order (so do young pullets) and who will be the top roo. I keep 2 roos in almost every pen and have no problems at all. There is an occasional chase, but my boys never fight visciously. It is generally easier if they are raised together or if you add a young one to an older roo pen (because the young one will submit and steer clear of the older roo). They may be just fine. The crowing is another story and you certainly won't be able to stop that.
they will establish dominance. Depending on breed, how rough this will get. Whenever the weaker one tries to crow, mate, eat etc, the dominant one will hit him. Again how bad it will be will depend on size of pen/house, breed, # of hens, time of year, and age.
