2 Shrink Wrapped--*still alive* HELP!

ya.gif
That is such a nice thing to read about when we help out our feathered friends and it all works out. Congratulations!

So let me see if I have got this right...
I have 3 eggs under momma. One has hatched and the chick is a few days old. We were going to take the others away but we heard noise from it.
We took some of the shell off and there is a white membreane that is not broken. The chick sounds viable.
We put it back under momma.
Is this the right thing to do? I don't know about the other eggs...got a little shook up with the first one...

I was ever so carefully poke a hole in the membrane. But I would get it moist first with a q-tip and keep it wrapped in a warm wet towel. Have an incubator nearby to put it back in. I only did a little bit and then the chick popped right out. Tried to stand up and all.

I helped like 8 keets on my last guinea hatch since my humidity was all messed up - and I was too slow to help a pipped and zipped chick on my next hatch and it died. I can't help myself from helping if it looks like a shrinkwrap, I'm afraid. I need to go out of town on my next hatch!

(all the keets are alive and healthy 6 weeks later, btw)..

Yay!!! I gathered up nerve and we poked a little hole in the membrane and it came right out, fixing his beady birdy eye on us! Little black feathered footed cochin...THANKS!
