My Three Chicks
Crowing
My 15 month Speckled Sussex (Comet) laid a soft-shelled egg overnight from the roost the night before last night, and the previous night. Nothing last night and no egg today.
Yesterday she did sit in the nest box over an hour but nothing.
This morning she seemed active and like her normal crazy self. But this afternoon she has been sitting around and to herself. Her vent is also pulsating.
I tried to get her to soak in a warm epsom salt bath but it was her 1st time and she wouldn't relax and sit so I took her out after 10 mins.
Question is...if she is eggbound with a soft-shelled egg, how do I check? I don't think I can squeeze her vent area or feel in her vent because I'm afraid I'll break it!
Edit: she just had this poo. Doesn't look quite normal but maybe it says she's not eggbound?
