2 squatters!

I just went out to let the girls and Davey out. Was holding out a bit because it's 8 degrees. Down the ramp and onto the ground went Ethel squatting! I was so eggcited! I went around scratching everyone's back and Aussie squatted also! Based on everyone's combs I knew those two would lay first. Now it's back to waiting, hopefully I'll have some eggs in time for Christmas.

Congrats!!! We were so excited when our first start squatting! Then the 2nd! Going to be awhile before our last gal starts laying- still no comb or wattles!

Congratulations! I had my first squatter 2wks ago today, 2nd squatter couple days ago. Waiting on 3 more, all who got red combs/wattles & think another maybe squatting soon, it's comb is "growing". Didn't know but Wynadotte's combs get bigger as they get closer to laying Always learning

All of mine are 23 weeks and 2/6 are laying. The others have smaller combs of varying shades of pink. So still a bit of waiting to do. All of mine will lay brown eggs. I wish I would have got a few colorful layers.

Wow! Sounds like you'll be having a lot of eggs soon! All of mine had the same size and color combs. Then almost over night my black sex links comb got red, huge and flopped over! Wyandottes are so pretty! I wanted a few of those when I bought chicks but couldn't find them anywhere close to buy.
