All along I've been thinking I would go for a 2 story ark type tractor coop - 4'x6' with a run on the bottom, and a 4'x6' top story with a window, fold out side, maybe a a-shaped roof or maybe a slanted roof so the top story is 2' tall on one side and 3' tall of the other. That makes 24' up top minus a nesting box, feeder/waterer and ramp - but still 4 sq' per bird. The bottom run would also be 6' per bird (not 10, but I really do plan to let them free range in my yard every evening, and I do have a 3'5' tractor I could connect to the run to expand their space. I know bigger is always better. I'm reading Pat from Ontario's posts a lot and thinking maybe it would be better to build a a separate coop and run.
