I am just outside of Spokane, Washington (in Nine Mile Falls) and I have 2 turkey poults, approximately 5-6 weeks old that need a good home. One is a Broad Breasted White, the other is a Merriam's Wild turkey. They are healthy and growing fast and I am running out of room! The wild turkey was rescued on or about the day it hatched (egg tooth intact and absolutely no wing feather development) from the middle of a road. very dehydrated and in serious danger of being squished, I brought it home and put it in an extra brooder I had. The white was bought from a local feed store, as a "friend" for the rescue. I had hoped to be able to build a run for them, but I just can't do it this year. I had never planned on having turkeys! I understand the White is bred for eating, but I would prefer that it not be. As for the Merriam's, I definitely want it to live out it's life, it is a little survivor!

The day I brought the little one home:

Please, serious, no-kill home only.

I keep getting error messages when I try to respond to your post - I guess sooner or later ALL my attempts will show up here! We live in western WA and would be happy to have your poults join our three turkeys. We're definitely no kill - all our creatures are pets.

Hi Pam. Sorry you were having troubles. I have someone else interested, but it was through an ad on Craig's List, so I won't let them go until I get proof that they have a set up for turkeys and that they are a good home. If I am not comfortable with their situation, I'd love to be able to get in touch with you, if that's okay?

This is hilarious. I was the person who picked these turkeys up. The little one grew up into a hen and lives like a gypsy, stopping by once in a while for food. Couldn't stand to be caged after the weather was nice. She usually roosts close to the house and I see her several times a week.

The BBW was also a hen - laid about 50 beautiful eggs this spring. She left to lay another clutch of eggs down in a canyon but was killed by a raccoon. She wandered off one night and I didn't find her until it was too late.
