2 week Cornish X

It could be. We usually order straight run but last time I am pretty sure we got mostly all boys (since they are crowing now lol) it could be that this batch is more girls than boys

I don't know if mine are smaller, larger, or the same, compared to our last batch, but they are exactly 2 weeks today if look about the same size as yours, if anything, mine are smaller!

I am going to try to attempt to load an image of our cornish X chicks. Too funny that ours were hatched the same day. If the pic loads, you can see the size of them based on my hand, I am not a small guy. Still hard to tell the size without having them side by side. I hope I get it right.

Pretty poor pictures, taken with my phone, but it is the best I can do right now.

Your chicks look good and healthy. Good job.

Yeah I still think mine are looking smaller but they are definitely cornish X because they have the legs they just don't seem to be growing like the last batch that I had. They aren't really voracious eaters either. They will eat when you put the food in but they don't eat like their life depends on it like I'm used to from Cornish X. Just not sure what to make of it. They're not sick they are very active but they will play and lounge rather than just eating all the time. It's funny.

You guys have any weights on your birds at two weeks? I'm doing a weekly weigh in on my Red Broilers in ounces right now. I'm curious to see the weight difference at this point. My birds have more body feathers than all of yours do, but your birds look to be larger than mine (as expected).\\

How much feed have you guys gone through?

I haven't weighed them yet but I will try to remember to do that the next time I am over there. They are at my sisters house since she has more land to let them range than I do.

I've gone through 33 lbs of feed, had them for 14 days.

I just weighed two of mine- 12.2 ounces and 11.8 ounces.

Again, I think mine look smaller than the other meaties posted in this thread though.

How much feed have you gone through so far Itsy?

Thanks for weighing them for me, Jessa! I'm still working on the 25lb bag I initially purchased, but we're getting low. I'll have to buy more on Sunday. I did weights today. The average was posted on my page .... 10.696oz AVG. The higher end birds were in the 12's and the lower end in the 8's. I'm surprised to see such a wide range of weights from these guys. I'm going to be building/putting them in the tractor this weekend. Our night time temps have been in the mid-upper 60's and I've had a lamp on them at night. During the day, they're in the sunroom at an elevated outdoor temperature (because of all the windows.) I'm hoping not to have to put any lamp on the tractor.... we shall see.

I thought the Freedom Ranger types would be a little lighter. I wonder what they'll weigh next week. I might increase my protein content when I purchase more food on Sunday. The feed they're on is 20%. I'm considering a 22-24% if they have it available. Otherwise - I could mix in a game bird feed, no?

Don't mean to hijack this thread! I hope it's along the same lines as the topic

I haven't weighed ours, but the twelve of them have gone through 39# of Show Chow in their first seventeen days. They were hatched on the 15th of June. I can't believe how they are growing. I am only feeding the Show Chow because four of them are going to the fair as my children's 4H project. They are the biggest, liveliest, and most uniform bunch we have had.
