How is the chick doing now?
I think organic feeds are great for mature birds, but for chicks, I prefer the medicated chick starter that has amprol in it. As well, for the first week, I give my chicks a product called Super Booster, which has penicillin and vitamins in it.
I rarely lose a chick with this combination.
You can always switch them to organic when they get bigger.
