Well, ever since I started letting my 2 week old chicks out of the brooder to run around my office they seem restless when I put them back in.

Can I give them grass or something to break up the monotony?

They are the first batch of chicks I have ever let loose so I am not sure what to do now!

They stare up at me and cheep to come out every time I go in the room!

So, if I can give them a treat in there that might help.....

I give mine grass all the time and they love it. Just be sure to cut it into tiny little pieces before you give it to them. If it's too long it can cause impacted crop. Oh, and they'll need access to grit too, to help break it down.

Is it warm enough where you are for trips outside? Several things can be used to create a temporary little pen for them. Once I used a upside down mesh playpen we bought at a garage sale. Just be sure to supervise them closely.
The older they get the more restless they will get being in a brooder.
