Yes, they need way more room....the pick no more is not going to help at all.

How soon they feather out can depend on how you manage the heat.
The sooner you start slowly reducing their heat, the sooner they will grow feathers and acclimate to cooler temps.

I talked to the guy at the coop where I purchased the chicks and he told me to use a red heat lamp. Tha red heat lamp seems to have calmed them down. Maybe it will buy me some time until I divide my garage.
