2 week old sick(?) quail

Hi all,
We have 6 2 week old quail. We got them at 1 day old. Five are thriving and growing well. But I have one that I am trying to save today. We separated it last night as the bigger ones were picking on it. Had some abrasions on its back, the others were walking on it and pecking it. This morning the bird is lethargic. I’m holding it for additional warmth. I tried warm sugar water for hydration and calories. How often should I water and what should I feed? I was thinking egg yolk for fat and protein. Any thoughts? Do I force it? It doesn’t want to wake up much to eat or drink.

I have it separated right now. It can walk but not well. No energy. I’ve been syringe feeding egg yolk, and sugar water. But I don’t know how often or how much to consider is good intake.

These are the same flock. Same age. They’ve been together until last night.

I wouldn't force feed it as long as it's taking some in. Sometimes chicks just don't thrive, though.

Keep it warm and watch the others in case they get similar symptoms.

It sounds like competition to me. Did the chick make it?

Unfortunately it died overnight.

It was most likely competition. Unfortunately, these chicks have a high mortality rate.
