I have this chick who just laid down and stopped walking! It eats, drinks and sleeps. Been on electrolytes/antibiotic water additive. I think I could of possibly seen red tinge to stool once or twice but poop looks normal and all. Ive constructed a swing of sorts for it to be supported...it does not seem to be in pain ... Just crazy, feel so bad for it! Any insights?? Thanks!

Welcome to BYC.

Can you post some photos or a video of her?
Does she even struggle or attempt to get up and walk?
What position are her legs in when she is lying down?
What type of electolyte (antibiotic) additive is this - brand?
Are you feeding chick starter?

Could be a neurological/developmental disorder or possibly a vitamin B2 (riboflavin) deficiency. Check you solution that you are giving her to make sure it has B vitamins, other wise you can use a human B-Complex tablet which has all the B vitamins.

The "red tinge" stool is a bit concerning, it could be Cocci or intestinal shedding. Cocci can cause weakness, lethargy, puffing up, not eating, loss of balance and diarrhea with mucus or blood and is treated with Corid in the water for 5 days.

sorry I'm new to this responding on here is weird. Anyway it acts like he can move his legs it doesn't really try to stand up when it does it just scoots around. I went to Stratus tractor supply about four days ago fall on this Tara vet 10 in a package (tetracycline hydrochloride soluble powder) I just gave the chicks some of D.vi.Sol.
