Because once when i was a kid my mom cracked an egg open to cook for breakfast and their was an embryo and it turned me off eating eggs for awhile.

oh. if you collect the eggs every day, there's no time for them to grow. you can also candle(shine a bright light on the eggs in a dark room), and if there's anything alive, you will see it. check the articles tab for more information on candling.

That happened to me too. My roo was supposed to lay me green eggs, is a pain in the butt, but I raised him from a baby.
From your 1st post of pictures, I think your 2nd chick may be gold and brown, third one black, last one maybe barred.

Yes the first 2 are belgian mille fleur d'uccles. The 3rd one is an olive egger, and the last 2 are frizzle easter eggers.
