I have a 2 week old duckling in a group of five, who has had a squinty/kind of filmy or watery? eye for the past few days and just about ten minutes ago started stumbling. I immediately gave her some vitamin B for the stumbling and I've been giving her a saline rinse daily for the eye, but I'm wondering if they could be related or if there's anything more I can do for her. All this time she's had a perfect appetite and is drinking and playing with the other ducks but I'm very concerned now.

Sorry about the not great photo. I promise I'm not holding her tight at all but she did not want to stay still for a photo. Any help would be appreciated. I'm going out to get more terramycin asap but if there's anything else meanwhile I would love to know.

Might be foamy eye, which is caused by (usually) a respiratory infection I believe. I'm not sure how to treat foamy eye, sorry I couldn't be of more help. hope she gets well soon <3

Hi thank you for replying at all! I've successfully treated foamy eye on another duck before, but honestly to me it doesn't really look like it here. on this baby it looks more like the area around her eye is maybe swelling and closing her eye? like I'm seeing less of her eye every day. the feathers around it look wet too. I thought at first some of the feathers might have been scraping her eye but they weren't.

she's still eating, pooping, etc. I'm going out to get terramycin today and I'm hoping that helps her eye and I'm going to keep giving her the vitamin b. Thank you again for replying.
