One of our 2-year-old hens has spent most of the past few days sitting or standing still--once beneath a bush, and today in the middle of the run. Today she got up to eat yogurt when I offered it, and her eyes look clear and alert, but she is definitely acting lethargic. I haven't seen her eat much or peck and scratch at the ground. She didn't explore like the others when I let them free range. Her poop is fairly normal looking--thick, green, and white. Every now and then it is green and watery, and really attracts the flies.

I gave her an epsom salt bath and cleaned her vent. Her crop and abdomen felt normal. The area a little below her vent did look red.

Any ideas on what it might be or what I should do?

What's her diet? Had she laid recently? Have you ever wormed her?
She laid an egg yesterday. (Though her eggs have always been a little thin). She mostly eats chicken feed, though we also give them vegetable scraps (strawberry tops, etc.), and allow the hens out in the yard to free range every now and then.

I'd give her extra Calcium for a week. Give one asap, then one once daily.

You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 in the vitamin aisle of stores like Walmart, CVS, etc. Give 1 tablet daily, just pull down on her wattles, pop the tablet into the beak and let her swallow.

Work on hydration, offer her normal feed.

Photos of her poop when you can.

Thanks so much for the response and suggestions! I'll give her some extra calcium. She is eating and drinking (and even stood up to drink this morning), but is still lethargic.

Here is a pic of her poop from last night.
