Hello, I noticed this am she was not feeling well, feathers fluffed and eyes closed. I noticed right away her crop is full and hard. She has also been having what looks like labored breathing and sounds a bit wheezy on and off. Had been eating and acting normal. No other symptoms with this ( no watery eyes, sneezing or discharge from her nares). I was getting ready to treat my flock for tapeworms as I have seen evidence in several birds poops. I think she may have them. About two months ago I successfully treated her for a bad prolapsed vent. I do not think she is laying. She goes into a nest box for a while but no I do not think she is laying. I have not looked at her vent to see if it looks like she has been laying. Should I treat for impacted crop first? Her weight seems normal.

I gave her coconut oil and massaged her crop. I did get it to empty. Now I notice her abdomen is firm from below her vent to between her legs. I could not feel an egg.

I inserted a gloved lubricated finger in her vent. I did not feel an egg. Still has a firm abdomen. Should I give her a warm water soak with some epsom salts?
