2 year old Pekin duck with bad leg..

My vet never mentioned anything about an actual stroke...he just said something neurological was going on......I wanted to make sure she wasn't in pain...and he said she isn't....I mean...how do you know if a duck is in pain??? My husband won't pick her up because of those wings....

Men and they are so brave. LOL

actually I don't think we can tell if a duck is in pain except right before they die. They are prey animals so they hide any sickness really well and we most of the time don't know anything until it's too late. There are a few exceptions but not many.

Not wanting to eat not wanting to walk things like that give us clues. But unless we are able to sit out with them and observe them daily we may miss something.
