I have two young boys (1 I hatched and 1 I bought) that are both around 14 weeks old. The barred rock has just started crowing, although he still sounds like an adolescent boy at choir practice. I am just speculating that the black australorp is a boy by the size of his comb and wattles; he has not yet crowed.
They are inseparable. Must be by each others side at all times or they cry for each other. They were introduced to the big girls as young chicks, and quickly became the bottom of the totem pole. They are friendly with people and obviously haven't even attempted to mess with the girls.
I would LOVE to keep them, but I live within city limits and am trying to stay under the radar with my backyard flock. These boys will certainly blow my cover! I would prefer if they go together, but am willing to separate for the right homes.
